Most of us snooze our alarms in the morning, wake up late, check our phones,   and then rush to our work. In this fast-paced hectic life, we forget to give time to ourselves.   Research by Harvard Business School states that most successful people have a morning routine to which they adhere every day. It is said that the way you spend your morning affects the rest of the day. If you make your mornings happy and energetic,   you will carry the same mood throughout the day.

The book “5 AM Club” written by Robin   Sharma also focuses upon why having a morning routine gives you a headstart for the day ahead.   So, today I am going to share with you five Morning Habits that are followed by the most successful people. Keep watching the video till the end to get a perfect morning routine.  While this seems easy, it is tough not to use the mobile-first thing in the morning.

Top 5 Morning Habits Followed by Most Successful People

We are addicted to using mobile and hence it can be a difficult habit to break. Even Jay Shetty talks in his videos about how he had to keep his phone in his car the previous night so that he doesn’t get on his phone directly upon waking up. Keeping your phone away at least for 2 hours from waking up will keep you away from unnecessary distractions. And try to wake up at least 3 hours before the time you have to leave for work/school. This way you can give 2 hours to yourself.

Sleep early the previous night so that you are not sleep-deprived the next morning.   Use a simple alarm clock instead of using an alarm on your phone. This trick will help you to prevent checking and scrolling through your phone in the early morning.

So, Habit Number 1: Do not use your phone till 2 hours after waking up.  After waking up, the first thing you should realize is this day is a gift for you from God.  Many people are struggling for life or many people didn’t even get the chance to live this day.   But you have been given a new day and hence you should be grateful for it. Take out 5   minutes to remind yourself of the things you are grateful for. It can be your good health,   being with family, having the freedom to choose your life or anything.   When you simply count your blessings, you stop complaining about the things you don’t have and start valuing the ones you have. Doing such a simple activity will make you truly happy from within.

So, Habit Number 2: Practice Gratefulness   Coming to the next habit, meditation. You need to focus all day long for doing the best at work.   The best way to keep yourself focused in this distracted world is to meditate.   Start from 10 minutes and then increase the duration up to 20-30 mins. In the beginning,   you will find it difficult to meditate but keep doing it consistently. You can chant some mantras or you can use tunes for deep focus which are available on the internet or simply put on your earphones without playing any music or sound just to block the noise from outside. Practice meditation every day and see your focus and creative levels rise with reduced anger.

So, Habit Number 3 is: Meditate for at least 10 mins

Habit Number 4 is Working out. Science has proven that working out in the morning improves blood circulation and reduces stress levels. Physical exercise is a   must in the morning as now most of us have to work all day long sitting at one place. Well,   the good news is you don’t necessarily have to go to the gym for a workout. You can go for a   walk or run in the park or play some sport or even stretch yourself at home. If you go out in nature then it’s better as you can feel the fresh air and energy from the sunrise.

So, Habit number 5 is: Do any form of physical exercise.  Well, the next habit is to make your mindset positive. A positive mindset can help you face any challenge easily. There are two ways for this. Firstly, you can read self-help or non-fiction books. Many books help you to create a positive attitude, personality development, spirituality,   etc. But if you don’t have the time to read a book, you can practice saying affirmations.   Affirmations are short positive sentences that help you build confidence and motivate you.   For example, you can say: I am getting better every day. I am happy and grateful for what   I have. Today is my day and I am going to win it. You can face yourself in front of a mirror making an eye-contact with yourself and say these powerful words.

Read a book or practice affirmations.  Great, so let’s summarize all the habits for a perfect morning routine.
